About Us
HCS (Hybrid Control System) VOICEPACKS
HCS VoicePacks is a specialist voice production studio creating immersive voice control and character-driven crew experiences for simulation and science fiction games. Our products combine hands-free spoken command control with professionally recorded dialogue from Hollywood's finest Sc-Fi legends - and a strong focus on in-game immersion, particularly for VR and simulation play.
Sci-Fi Legends
William Shatner
William Shatner, famed worldwide for his iconic role as Captain James Tiberius Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, as well as a film and television career spanning decades, performs ORION for HCS VoicePacks. Recorded across five dedicated studio sessions over a number of years, most recently in 2023, William Shatner has brought not only a remarkable presence to the 'ORION' character, but genuine enthusiasm and support for what Paul at HCS creates. His continued involvement has been a defining part of the VoicePacks legacy, helping shape one of the most distinctive and celebrated cockpit companion performances in the range.

Sci-Fi Legends
John de Lancie
John de Lancie, celebrated worldwide for his iconic role as the omnipotent Q across multiple eras of Star Trek, performs ELI for HCS VoicePacks. Known for his razor sharp wit and uniquely theatrical delivery, de Lancie brings a mischievous, sophisticated edge to the character, including a legendary talent for profanity that somehow still sounds perfectly tasteful when delivered with his trademark charm. Beyond the studio, John has spent many hours speaking with Paul about HCS and his wider creative projects, offering genuine encouragement and continued support over the years. His involvement has been both a defining performance and a valued friendship within the HCS VoicePacks legacy.

Marina Sirtis
Marina Sirtis, beloved worldwide for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation, performs CARINA for HCS VoicePacks. Often described as the most pleasant cockpit voice assistant in the range, Carina brings warmth, humour, and a genuinely light-hearted personality to your ship. Recorded with HCS in London, Marina was highly engaging, great fun in the studio, and immediately enthusiastic about what we were building. She was thrilled to join the growing cast of legendary performers, and her charm and conversational delivery make Carina feel less like a system voice and more like a friendly companion at your side.

FOUNDER-LED PRODUCTION
HCS VoicePacks is created and produced by Paul Watson (Founder, Producer, Writer) pictured here with the lovable Brian Blessed, who performed the voice pack "VASCO". Paul invents every character and writes the scripts, and oversees the full creative and production pipeline - casting, performance direction, recording, editing, integration design, and release. HCS is intentionally run as a tightly controlled production operation to keep quality consistent across every product. Dedicated to the delivery of immersive content, Paul continues to bring new and exciting characters to life for the all of the sims loved by players all over the world.
A SMALL CORE, BUILT FOR QUALITY
Behind the scenes, HCS operates with a lean core team - typically Paul, his wife Mzia, who takes care of much of the administrative work, and a dedicated VoiceAttack product manager, David Pearson, supporting development, coding and tooling for our partner's software and the voice packs themselves. We also work very closely with our partners, but most of all, Gary Magenheimer of VoiceAttack. This model keeps decisions fast, reduces compromise, and ensures the final output reflects a single coherent creative and production standard rather than committee design.
COMMUNITY-POWERED SUPPORT
HCS also benefits from an exceptional community. A team of experienced players volunteer their time to help run the HCS Discord, support new customers, share setup guidance, and keep feedback flowing from voice pack users to the people building the products. It’s a rare advantage: the community isn’t just an audience, it actively helps shape the ecosystem. They are an invaluable asset to both the players, and HCS VoicePacks.
